Mario Salazar, MD, is a board-certified surgeon and vein specialist with over a decade of experience in the field of venous medicine. He has performed over 20,000 minimally-invasive vein treatments and brings his extensive knowledge of the treatment of vein disease, varicose veins, and spider veins, to our Houston area vein clinics. Today, he leads a team of dedicated vein specialists at Metro Vein Centers’ vein clinics in The Woodlands.
Dr. Salazar graduated with his doctorate from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas, and trained at the Department of General Surgery with St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Throughout his career, Dr. Salazar has also dedicated himself to the teaching of future doctors as Associate Professor of Surgery at the Texas Tech Medical School-Permian Basin where he was twice named Teacher of The Year in the Surgery Department.
Dr. Salazar is nationally recognized as an expert in providing state-of-the-art vein care using minimally invasive technologies and is at the forefront of modern treatments for chronic venous insufficiency, including radiofrequency and endovenous laser ablations, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, Varithena, and VenaSeal.
