Meet Our Management Team

At Metro Vein Centers, our team is dedicated to providing patients with the absolute best care from scheduling, through treatment and beyond.

Ali Meslemani

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Ali Meslemani, M.D., is a native Detroiter and founder of Metro Vein Centers and Metro Vascular.

As Chief Medical Officer, he is responsible for the entire medical organization, including training and supervising physicians and medical staff. Dr. Meslemani has decades of experience in understanding and treating venous disease and other vascular conditions. He has extensive post-graduate training at both KCM and Henry Ford Hospital’s Department of Surgery and is a member of the American College of Phlebology, The American Venous Forum, the American Medical Association, and the Society of Vascular Ultrasound.

Dr. Meslemani graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from Ross University of Medicine and published multiple papers focusing on improving minimally-invasive laparoscopic surgical techniques. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Science at Western Michigan University.

Alessio Baraldi

Chief Executive Officer

Alessio has spent his career working with physicians and medical businesses ranging from individual practices to large healthcare organizations.

Prior to joining Metro Vein Centers, he was a venture capital and private equity executive at Warburg Pincus, Blackstone and Morgan Stanley. In these roles, he steered the strategic direction and supported the growth plans of a several companies in the healthcare services sector. Alessio earned an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BSc in Finance and Management from Cass Business School in London and Bocconi University in Milan.

Dmitri Ivanov


Dmitri brings decades of experience in leadership roles in operations, business development and management consulting.

Prior to joining Metro Vein Centers, Dmitri worked in asset management and operations for Hersha Group, a family owned hospitality management company where he was responsible for a portfolio of over twenty hotels. At Starwood, he headed finance and strategic planning for Le Meridien Hotels Group and ran Bliss, a chain of 40 spas across the North East. He started his career as a management consultant with Marakon Associates. Dmitri earned an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Paul Green Scholar, and a BSc in Computer Science and Economics from Odessa Polytechnic University.

Janelle Barnes

Chief Strategy Officer & Executive VP of Business Development

Janelle brings over a decade of healthcare experience in operations, strategic planning and financial management.

Janelle started her career as a surgical sales representative. Supporting physicians in the operating room, she appreciated the importance of flawless operations to deliver outstanding patient care. Janelle belongs to a number of professional organizations, including the Medical Group Management Association and the Society of Human Resource Management. She earned a BA from Oakland University.

A native Detroiter, she has been instrumental in the rapid growth of Metro Vein Centers as one of the nation’s leading providers of venous care.

Art Golden

Chief Operating Officer

Art brings decades of experience in operations, strategic growth, and leadership roles in the healthcare industry.

Prior to joining Metro Vein Centers, Art was Director of the Northeast Operations for Stericycle (NASDAQ: SRCL). He joined Stericycle in 1993, when the Company had $2M in revenue and 65 employees and was part of the team that helped it grow into a company with $2.9Bm in revenue and 15,000+ employees, where he personally oversaw a staff of 1,100. Art’s expertise includes sales, proactive organizational building and continuous process improvement. Art led operations for regulated medical waste disposal and pharmaceutical waste services along with hazardous and solid waste in 12 states. He led the team that contained the U.S. EBOLA crisis risk by managing the waste at the New York hospital where one of country’s first cases was treated, and mitigated public health contamination risk (e.g., EBOLA, AIDS, mad cow disease and hepatitis) by maintaining compliance in multiple jurisdictions and states.

Art has been a member of the Blauvelt Volunteer Fire Company since 1982 (former Department Chief and Board Director). He received his Bachelor of Science in Business from Dominican College, Blauvelt, NY.

Max Hutton

Chief of Clinical Development and Compliance

Dr. Max Hutton, M.D., is Chief of Clinical Development and Compliance at Metro Vein Centers and Metro Vascular.

Dr. Hutton is a board-certified diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners with over 25 years of experience. Dr. Hutton completed his residency in General Surgery at the University Hospitals of Cleveland, and continued with a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Hutton has been the Director of Vascular Surgery at Allegiance Health Systems, the Director of the Center for Vascular Health, as well as the Medical Director of Vascular Laboratories. He was also the Attending Vascular Surgeon at the University Hospitals of Cleveland in Ohio. He is currently the Associate Director for the Michigan Surgical Quality Collaborative.

Dr. Hutton completed his undergraduate studies at Case Western Reserve University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Post graduate, he completed a dual track certificate program in management and medicine. He then completed his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He is currently based at the Metro Vein’s Canton office.

Patrick Daley

Corporate Sales and Physician Liaison Manager
Patrick brings more than 25 years of experience and success in managing national sales organizations in the healthcare industry.
Most recently, Patrick acted as Vice President of National Accounts for Daniels Health, a full-service provider of medical, sharps, biohazardous waste disposal and clinical product solutions to the healthcare industry with 600 employees nationwide. Previously, Patrick was the Director of National Accounts at Stericycle (NASDAQ: SRCL), a compliance company that specializes in collecting and disposing medical waste, sharps and pharmaceuticals. At Stericycle, Patrick was a member of the Leadership Team and managed a staff of 25 generating $150 million in annual revenue. Patrick is a graduate of Lewis University where he obtained a BA in Communication.
